The unit

Your own place on the field

One private unit, yours alone for the stay: an office to study and brief in, a bed, a full bath, a kitchen, and Wi-Fi. The hangar and the R44 are steps away, so a training day starts when you open the door.

Steps from the hangar

No commute, no parking, no lost hour. Preflight, fly, debrief, walk back.

An office for the ground work

Desk, Wi-Fi, room for the charts and the POH. Ground sessions on weather days with Walter Dusseldorp, CFII (Helicopter), happen here or in the hangar.

A real bed and a full bath

Two flights a day take more out of you than you expect. Sleep on the field and show up rested.

A kitchen of your own

Cook or reheat; groceries and restaurants are in Fort Ann and the Lake George area. Food is not included, which keeps the housing free.

What "no additional cost" covers

  • The private unit on the field, for the training pilot, during the training stay
  • For block-time and immersion students: PPL-H prepaid blocks, the R44 Job-Ready Block, rusty-pilot blocks, the Mountain Course and Winter Immersion seats
  • Weather days during the stay — there is no housing charge for a day you cannot fly
  • Wi-Fi, the kitchen and the office

Not included: food, travel to and from Fort Ann, and nights outside the training stay. The hourly pay-as-you-fly rate does not include housing; the blocks do.

A second student: the partner B&B

There is one unit on the field. When a second student trains in the same window, they stay at our partner B&B 55 minutes from the airport — we arrange it with you at booking. That is the honest reason we train about two students at a time, and why Winter Immersion has four seats rather than forty.

Around the field

Groceries and restaurants are in Fort Ann and the Lake George area. Bring a car for errands; you will not need it for training days.

House rules

Four rules, all of them simple

  • Quiet. It is an airport and a working field; evenings are for sleeping and studying.
  • No smoking in the unit or on the field.
  • No guests overnight. The unit is for the training pilot.
  • Keep it ready for the next pilot. Leave it the way you found it; the next student may arrive the day you leave.

Questions

Frequently asked questions
